XR2918, XR4724, XR4735, XR6084 to be phased out
To make it easier and more convenient for customers to identify and select the protection solutions they need, we are streamlining our portfolio by phasing out 4 XR Heat Exchanger product families. We will be phasing out the product families as of February 2026, with a last time order date of December 1st, 2025.
The highly recommended substitutes for each of these ranges in our global product portfolio are as follows:
- The MIX36 portfolio to substitute the XR2918 portfolio
- The MIX50 to substitute the XR4724
- The MIX80to substitute the XR4735
- The TX3856 to substitute the XR6055
- The TX5283 to substitute the XR6084
During the interim transition period, we will work closely with customers to provide support. Below you will find more details.

What does nVent HOFFMAN’s MIX product portfolio offer?
MIX air-water heat exchangers deliver high thermal efficiency in a compact, cost-effective design ideal for cooling electrical cabinets in favorable ambient conditions. With specific power outputs ranging from 22 to 80 W/K, they offer flexible installation options—inside or outside the cabinet—with both rear and side electrical exits. Their advanced coil design resists clogging from airborne contaminants, maintaining performance while minimizing maintenance. When needed, fans and coils can be quickly and safely removed for servicing. The system’s countercurrent airflow and high-efficiency surfaces ensure maximum heat removal, drawing air from the cabinet’s upper section for optimal thermal exchange. MIX units are engineered for fast setup, reduced maintenance, and reliable operation in demanding environments. Certified to Type 12, UL listed, and available in Stainless Steel 304, they provide a durable and efficient solution for industrial cooling needs.

Are there dimension, design or other differences between the products being phased out and their substitutes?
Yes, there are slight differences between some of the models and their substitutes. The main differences are listed below.

Accessories and Replacements (examples)
- How do I retrofit the MIX and TX SKUs with the OBS XR SKU cutouts in my enclosure?
nVent HOFFMAN will offer easy swap adaptor plenums that provide a quick and easy way for attaching MIX/TX Heat Exchangers to the XR Heat Exchanger cutout left on the enclosure.
- How do I order an accessory or replacement part for the current OBS Climaguard XR SKUs?
If you know the item number, you can proceed to order as usual. If you do not know the item number, please contact your nearest nVent HOFFMAN sales representative.
- For how long will accessories and replacement parts that are compatible with the current SKUs be available?
nVent HOFFMAN will ensure replacement and spare parts for the OBS SKUs, as well as dedicated accessories, are available until 3 years after last manufacturing date.
However, they will become available only upon request after last manufacturing date Jan 15, 2025.
Standard and Customized Heat Exchangers (examples)
- Does nVent HOFFMAN guarantee that I will be able to order standard OBS Heat Exchanger SKUs until Dec 1st, 2025?
Although OBS SKUs stock will be reduced gradually before discontinuing OBS Bulletin Feb, 2026, nVent HOFFMAN will continue to manufacture SKUs until last manufacturing date of Jan, 2025.
- Can I order customized solutions of the ranges that are substituting?
Yes, nVent HOFFMAN will continue offering customized enclosures to meet the unique requirements of each individual customer, including special dimensions, custom colors and more until the last time buy date of Dec 1st 2025.

- Do the substitute ranges of enclosures give the same protection ratings as OBS SKUs?
Yes, the substitutes achieve same NEMA TYPE rating along with IP54.
