ESG AT NVENT

At nVent, we believe that safer systems ensure a more secure world.

The world is becoming more sustainable and electrified, demanding new innovations to meet changing technologies and needs. The global energy transformation, rising demand for data, adoption of renewable energy technology, the shift to electric vehicles and other sustainability trends are all creating new opportunities to connect and protect.

ESG has been a critical part of who we are and how we have operated since the beginning of our company. At nVent, we focus our ESG efforts in three areas: People, Products and Planet. We have made meaningful progress across these pillars. These efforts will continue as we seek to reinforce our culture, develop innovative and sustainable solutions and do our part to combat global climate change.

"In 2022, we made strong progress in each of our ESG focus areas."

In our People pillar, we increased diverse representation in our employee population— including the representation of women in management globally and racially diverse professional employees in the United States—and continued to build on our programs to develop, recognize and support our employees.

In our Products pillar, we continued to build on our efforts to deliver innovative products that make a positive impact in one or more of our three ESG categories: Eco-Friendly Materials, Eco-Friendly Designs and End-User Safety. Seventy-six percent of the products in our new product pipeline at the end of 2022 met at least one of these criteria. We also made progress toward our goal of increasing the digital accessibility of product environmental data for our customers.

In our Planet pillar, we reduced our Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and increased our renewable energy consumption. We remain focused on environmental stewardship—achieving our Planet goals, investing in renewable energy, reducing water consumption, and reducing and diverting waste. We are committed to helping protect natural resources and providing value to our customers and the communities where we live and work.

In our Governance focus area, we increased training on nVent’s sustainable sourcing practices and our Code of Conduct. We updated our Code of Conduct and created more interactive materials for our employees. Additionally, we trained 100% of our professional employees and 80% of our total population on our Code of Conduct. We provided training on nVent’s responsible and sustainable sourcing practices to 90% of employees in procurement roles.

Our 2025 People Goals

  • Increase representation of women in management globally by 20%
  • Increase representation of racially diverse U.S. professional employees by 25%
  • Reach an employee safety total recordable incident rate of ≤0.50

Our 2025 Products Goals

  • Reach >90% of products in our active New Product Introduction funnel with a positive impact in at least one of our three Products ESG categories by 2025
  • Make product environmental data 100% digitally accessible to customers by 2025

Our 2030 Planet Goals
