The mission of Global Women’s Network is to provide education, networking, development and business opportunities for women at all levels, creating a more inclusive and respectful work environment where employees feel respected, valued, engaged and fully committed to nVent’s success. During Women’s History Month, nVent held a variety of celebrations globally. Our Global Women’s Network Employee Resource Group drove these events across several of our sites.
March was an opportunity for Global Women’s Network Employee Resource Group (ERG) to honor and bring awareness to the initiatives of our ERGs. Our ERGs are open to all employees at nVent.
In our Saint Louis Park, Minnesota management office, we hosted a panel discussion that featured Minnesota Lynx Assistant Coach and Former Player Lindsay Whalen and Minnesota United FC Chief Executive Officer Shari Ballard. Our employees gathered to hear from both inspirational leaders. Whalen and Ballard discussed their professional journeys, overcoming obstacles and the ways they incorporate wellness into their busy routines.
Through our partnership with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx, we developed a series of episodes on social media called “Leading the Pack.” These episodes featured several of our female ERG leaders discussing topics around Women’s History Month. Additionally, nVent sponsored the Women’s History Night Timberwolves game on March 19. Hundreds of nVent employees attended the game with their family and friends and posed for a postgame photo on the court.
In China, our team organized craft activities including stamping tote bags and crafting brooches, inspired by Chinese cultural heritage. At our Netherlands site, we held inspiring discussions along with salsa dancing and yoga. In India, our team held a luncheon and workshop focused on the theme of “Accelerating Action.” These are just a few examples of the celebrations our team held for Women’s History Month.
At nVent, our people are at the core of our business. Our ERGs are formed by employees who share a common interest, background or experience and are open to all employees. They are responsible for leading our employee-driven inclusion and diversity efforts. ERG leaders and members support each other, foster awareness of diversity and promote inclusion and respect throughout nVent.
