February was our Conductors’ Employee Resource Group (ERG) celebration month and Black History Month. At nVent, celebration months are an opportunity to honor and bring awareness to the initiatives of our ERGs, which are open to all employees at nVent.
The mission of Conductors is to support, uplift, engage and professionally advance Black/African Ancestry employees, while collaborating with allies.
To kick off the month, Conductors developed a cookbook from recipes provided by employees. Conductors will sell copies throughout the end of the year to raise money for the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). NSBE supports Black engineers in advocacy, education and career advancement. It is committed to equipping all students and professionals with the technical expertise, leadership skills and industry connections needed to drive economic and technological progress.
During the Conductors membership meeting, they held a Black trivia event. The winners received gift cards.
At the end of the month, several nVent employees volunteered at Junior Achievement (JA) North BizTown in St. Paul. JA North inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy. It offers a multitude of programs centered on financial literacy, career readiness and entrepreneurship. The volunteers were paired with a small group of students to help them make important business and personal finance decisions throughout their time at JA BizTown.
At nVent, our people are at the core of our business. Our ERGs are formed by employees who share a common interest, background or experience and are open to all employees. They are responsible for leading our employee-driven inclusion and diversity efforts. ERG leaders and members support each other, foster awareness of diversity and promote inclusion and respect throughout nVent.
