- Primarily used in cathodic protection applications on cable to cast or ductile iron pipe
- Welding material is in the top of the tube and starting material is in the bottom of the tube
- Packaged by size in plastic tubes with orange caps
- Tubes packaged in plastic boxes along with metal disks
- Each welded connection uses a single disk
- Non-explosive
- Not subject to spontaneous ignition
