DTM SOFTWARE PACKAGE TYPES
- What types of packages are available?
- DTM Software packages are divided in to three categories:
 - DTM Engineering and Manufacturing – Premium and Professional
 - DTM Connected Worker
 - DTM Value-Add Options
- What are the differences in types of packages?
- - DTM Engineering and Manufacturing enables designers to use powerful features to
simplify the design process and capture manufacturing data to drive automated
manufacturing. The easy-to-use solutions help designers create enclosure designs in 2D
and 3D without the overhead of learning 3D design processes.
 - DTM Premium, provides the most advanced features required to create schematic and panel layouts. Available in 120 or unlimited drawing sheet options. The drawing sheet limitation applies to a single project. Users can have as many projects as they desire.
- DTM Professional, provides the most common features required to create schematics and panel layouts. Available in 30, 120 or unlimited drawing sheet options. The drawing sheet limitation applies to a single project. Users can have as many projects as they desire.
 - - DTM Connected Worker simplifies enclosure wiring, assembly, and testing work on the
manufacturing floor. For instance, the connected wiring package provides detailed wiring
information using the engineering data and wire routing completed in the design phase.
 - DTM Value-Add Options can be broadly divided into four main categories to provide
additional functionality to users beyond the core design and documentation features of
the DTM Software solution.- 1. Data Management - -Cloud options for data storage, version and access control.
- -Exchange data with 3D mechanical tools.
 - 2. Collaboration tools for connection with leading 3D mechanical design - solutions - 3. Connect with partner solutions - Connect with various partner solutions to augment the data flow across the engineering, manufacturing, and systems
- Connect with upstream and downstream business systems
- Connect with business systems like ERP, PLM, and PDM systems to integrate DTM Software with existing business processes.
 - 4. Cloud Options - Helps customers store, version, and control access to design data in acommercial cloud platform (currently supports AWS and Azure cloud platforms).
- The customer provides the cloud platform, and retains complete control of their data.
- Simplifies the in-house IT infrastructure and provides a lower overhead file storage and management solution.

LICENSING
- What are the terms of DTM Software licensing?
- DTM Software licenses are available in 1-year or 3-year subscription options.
- How many licenses do I need?
- The number of licenses required depends on the number of concurrent users and the
 type of users.
 - Engineering and Manufacturing Professional and Premium Packages:
If all engineers need to access the software at the same time, a separate
license must be purchased. If not all engineers need access at the same
time, a select number of licenses can be purchased and shared.

- Connected Worker Packages:
Connected Worker licenses require a separate license from Engineering
and Manufacturing Packages. Similar to the above, if all engineers need
to access the software at the same time, a separate license needs to be
purchased. If not all engineers need access at the same time, a select
number of licenses can be purchased and shared.

- Engineering and Manufacturing Professional and Premium Packages:
- Can licenses be shared by multiple users?
- The licenses are floating and can be used on multiple computers. The limitation is on
 concurrent usage.
- What if a licensee is out of the office?
- The licenses are served by the license manager FlexNet, which typically is installed
on a server. The users can check-out a license for some time, if they are traveling or
will not be connected to the network.
TECHNICAL
- What operating system is required?
- DTM Software only runs on Windows Operating System and is only available in 64bit
version. The dependencies for Windows versions change with release; this
information can be requested as and when required.
- How do I install the DTM Software on my computer?
- The Engineering and Manufacturing and Connected Worker packages are installed
on a computer or virtual machines by the customer. The cloud option, Cloud
Collaborator, is also installed locally. The cloud collaborator saves and manages files
in the cloud. The customer owns and provides the cloud location and is not included
in the license cost. The customer retains the cloud location and data ownership.
Note: nVent does not own or have access to the customer's cloud data.
- Do I need a server for licenses?
- A server is ideal for hosting the license manager. A regular computer can also host
the server as long as other machines can communicate with the computer over the
network. The application can run with a local Microsoft Access-based database for
parts, or the parts can be hosted in a Microsoft SQL server, or an Oracle database
can be supported. Please refer to the documentation for minimum requirements and
 version dependencies.
AUTOCAD COMPATIBILITY
- Does it work with AutoCAD files?
- Yes, DTM can import and export AutoCAD files.
- Can AutoCAD drawings be imported?
- Yes, you can import AutoCAD Drawings.
- Can AutoCAD drawings be produced from DTM Software?
- Yes, DTM Software can export DWG and DXF drawings.
LIbrary AND CONTENT
- How many library parts do you have?
- nVent has partnered with CADENAS as a platform for parts. The parts are distributed
into basic, certified and premium. Overall, the basic version has 100s of thousands of
parts. The certified and premium parts have electrification information. We are
working closely with vendors to increase the number of parts with electrical data to
 help with digital transformation

- Shortly, we plan to provide an on-demand library creation service to help create parts
 unavailable from vendors.

- nVent has partnered with CADENAS as a platform for parts. The parts are distributed
- How do we manage the parts library?
- Library parts are available locally as a shared database or standalone database.
Users are empowered with the flexibility to have multiple parts databases for different
standards or customers. However, a large team typically takes advantage of hosting
the shared database in an SQL or Oracle database.
- Does the software have North American symbols?
- The software comes with a large set of ANSI and JIC symbols to use as required.
TRAINING AND SERVICES
- What are the types of training options?
- Multiple online and onsite training options are available to meet a range of budgets.
- Is personalized training available?
- Yes, dedicated training classes are available online and onsite for up to six users.
PANEL SHOP AUTOMATION CONNECTIVITY
- Do I need nVent HOFFMAN panel shop automation or other types of automation machines to use DTM Software?
- No, automated machines are not required to use the software for engineering productivity. DTM Software simplifies the design process and adds quality checks to
 help manufacturing.
- How does DTM Software connect to PWA, ModCenter, and NC-CUT machines?
- DTM Software produces outputs from the engineering data to drive panel shop automation machines such as PWA, ModCenter, and NC-CUT machines.
- What are the benefits of using DTM to drive panel shop automation?
- With its automatic quality checks, DTM Software helps improve the design quality from the beginning stages.
- Engineering data is used to produce output for panel shop automation machines.
- The output is in the correct format to simplify the manufacturing process.
